    About This Role:

    To achieve our ambitious goals, we are looking for a mission-driven Front End Engineer to join Finch’s founding team. The ideal candidate will be a versatile, resilient technologist with experience supporting early stage product development. Bring your technical chops and innate curiosity and we’ll get you up to speed on consumer-based climate and sustainability solutions. It’s very exciting! In this role, you will be a key driver in helping achieve our company vision of making it easier for brands and consumers to live sustainably.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    We’re looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial front end engineer who can help build robust, scalable web applications and browser extensions that meet the requirements of our roadmap and go to market strategy.

    • You are comfortable translating requests from non-technical colleagues into working tech.
    • You are comfortable owning the front end tech stack of multiple products, setting a solid foundation, and working to build a team around yourself.
    • You can own web development best practices, cross browser/device compatibility, and can implement SEO.
    • You can build and maintain our landing, feature, SPA pages on choosefinch.com; build and improve our browser extension; and support new product development into the future.
    • You have a solid understanding of web and internet fundamentals.
    • You believe testing and automation are critical elements in the software development lifecycle, and you write production-ready code with this framework in mind.
    • You are passionate about learning and growing but never afraid to ask questions, seek help, and be transparent about challenges.
    • You are resilient and enjoy the dynamic life of working at an early stage startup.

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Have formal education in computer science, engineering, math, design, or similar discipline.
    • Have experience with creating, customizing, and maintaining web applications, especially content-driven sites using some sort of JAM-stack. Bonus points for experience with browser extension development.
    • Have fluency in React and Javascript. Bonus points for experience with Laravel and Tailwind, but not required.
    • Be comfortable writing modern, hook-based React components and using React Context API.
    • Experience with AWS hosting, Lambda, and MySQL.
    • Familiarity with block-based headless CMS platforms.

    We are looking for someone within a 3 hour time difference from Eastern Standard Time. This role will be remote for the foreseeable future.

    Target salary range: $90,000-$150,000

    About This Role:

    To achieve our ambitious goals, we are looking for mission-driven interns to support research and content development initiatives over Summer 2022.

    You will work closely with the Finch team to identify, categorize, and organize our extensive library of sustainability and environmental data. At the end of this project we will have an organized set of internal resources accessible to the whole Finch team. The project will involve lots of reading about sustainability.

    We want to co create an experience that contributes as much to your learning and professional development as Finch’s growth.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    We are looking for a super organized, ace communicator to help us plan, create, distribute, and measure the meaningful content that makes it easier for brands and consumers to live sustainably.

    • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’re concise, creative, and upbeat in your communications. Ideally you’re just as great in 140 characters as in a long form essay.
    • You are passionate about climate change and want your daily work to have a positive environmental impact.
    • You can synthesize the need to know from a sea of information.
    • You love learning new things and are excited to jump in.
    • You are comfortable doing daily work independently as part of a cross functional, fully remote team. We have structured systems and touch points, but most of our days are solo work.
    • You are passionate about learning and growing but never afraid to ask questions, seek help, and be transparent about challenges.
    • You are excited to work with the Finch team to have a meaningful experience.

    To achieve our ambitious goals, we are looking for mission-driven, software developer interns to support an experimental project Summer 2022.

    You will work closely with our Chief Product Officer and the larger technical team to build an MVP web application that enables our customers to submit product information and receive feedback in exchange. This is an awesome opportunity to quickly build a product from 0-1 using the fundamentals of agile and customer centered development.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    • Students or recent grads in computer science, software development, engineering, math, or similar.
    • Working knowledge of Python, React, node.js, or Javascript. If you’re proficient in another language, let us know.
    • You love learning new things and are excited to jump in.
    • You are comfortable doing daily work independently as part of a cross functional, fully remote team. We have structured systems and touch points, but most of our days are solo work.
    • You are passionate about learning and growing but never afraid to ask questions, seek help, and be transparent about challenges.
